Nguyễn Như Quỳnh, born in 1954, is a distinguished Vietnamese actress and a recognized People's Artist (NSND), as well as an avid amateur poet. She embarked on her artistic journey by graduating from the Vietnam Theatre School, presently known as the University of Theatre and Film in Hanoi, in 1971. Just two years later, she made her film debut as one of the female leads in "Bài ca ra trận" ("The Song of Battle"), directed by Trần Đắc in 1973.

Như Quỳnh's career continued to flourish when she portrayed the character Nết in the 1974 film "Đến hẹn lại lên" ("We'll Be Seeing Us Again"), a performance that earned her the prestigious Best Actress Award at the 3rd Vietnam Film Festival in 1975. This recognition solidified her status in the Vietnamese film industry.

Her talent transcended borders as she participated in several notable French co-productions, including "Indochine" (1992), "Cyclo" (1995), and "Vertical Ray of the Sun" (2000), which helped her gain international recognition and introduce her artistry to a broader audience. Throughout her career, Như Quỳnh has captivated viewers with her performances, making significant contributions to both Vietnamese cinema and the performing arts.
