Vlassis Bonatsos (30 November 1949 – 14 October 2004) was a beloved Greek entertainer and singer, known for his vibrant stage presence and versatility. Born to a judicial officer father and a piano teacher mother, he launched his music career in the early 1970s by co-founding the band "PELOMA BOKIOU," whose name was cleverly pieced together from the members' surnames: DaPEris, LOgothetis, MArinakis, BOnatsos, and KIOUrktsoglou.

In the early 1980s, Bonatsos co-starred in the legendary theatrical production *Evita* alongside Aliki Vougiouklaki, playing the role of Che. The production became a landmark in Greek theater, and the two maintained a long-term relationship. He later transitioned to acting, appearing in Greek films, but his greatest fame came in the 1990s through television. He became a household name with roles in popular series like *Aparadektoi* (1991) and as the host of iconic game shows, notably the Greek adaptation of *Family Feud*, known as *Kontres*. His signature catchphrase, "Tora!!!!!" ("Now!!!!"), delivered with a sharp, almost shouted rise in voice, became a cultural touchstone.

On the morning of October 14, 2004, while preparing chamomile tea with his wife, Bonatsos felt a sudden obstruction in his throat. He asked his wife to examine his mouth with a flashlight; she urged him to go to the hospital. Moments later, he lost the ability to breathe and collapsed. An ambulance arrived half an hour later, but it was too late. He was pronounced dead on arrival. The press reported the cause as asphyxiation due to obstructive laryngitis. He was 54.
