Something of Value (1957)
Against the backdrop of Kenya's tumultuous Mau Mau uprising, childhood friends Kimani (Sidney Poitier) and Peter (Rock Hudson) are thrust into opposing factions. Kimani, a native, and Peter, a British colonist, remain committed to their respective causes, yet both yearn for a peaceful resolution. Their dreams of moderation clash with the intensifying fury, colonial pride, and escalating brutality surrounding them. As tensions rise, the bonds of friendship are tested, revealing the complexities of loyalty and the harsh realities of a nation in turmoil.
