The Harder They Come (1972)
In Kingston, Jamaica, Ivanhoe Martin seeks employment but faces challenges until he secures a recording deal as a reggae artist. He releases his debut track, "The Harder They Come," but a clash with the unscrupulous producer Hilton drives him into a life of crime to make ends meet. Engaging in drug dealing and confronting corrupt police officers, Ivanhoe becomes a local legend. As he grapples with his criminal activities, his song gains immense popularity, propelling him to fame amidst the chaos of his life.
