Kick Me in the Traditions! (1979)
In Leif Panduro’s 1958 satire, high-school senior David delivers a swift kick to his principal’s rear and ends up locked in a psychiatric ward. From inside, he takes a hard look at his supposedly sane family—who are, naturally, the real lunatics. The psychiatrists are even worse. Only his grounded, trustworthy classmate Lis seems to keep her feet on the earth.
