They must contend with a lurking threat beneath the waves. On shore, Locke is compelled to enter the hatch after Kate vanishes inside, followed closely by Jack, who also decides to investigate. Meanwhile, flashbacks delve into Michael's tumultuous past with his ex-girlfriend Susan, showcasing their fierce custody battle over their son Walt and the painful moment Michael realizes he must relinquish his dreams of fatherhood.
