Tim Bradbury is determined to rebuild the cattle ranch he once owned in Texas, believing that Clay Grainger should assist him in this endeavor. Meanwhile, his son Walt has other aspirations and wishes to pursue farming. Complicating matters further, Tim's other son, Mike, who is employed at Shiloh, is putting the family's finances at risk due to his gambling habits.
