Isobel comes back to town, catching Alaric off guard with her bold demeanor and insistence on meeting Elena. When mother and daughter finally come face to face, Isobel dodges most of Elena’s inquiries but makes it clear she will go to any lengths to locate the enigmatic invention that Johnathan Gilbert has been after. As Isobel's reckless behavior escalates, Stefan, Damon, and Bonnie rally together to assist Elena in handling the unfolding crisis.
