Meanwhile, Pernell teams up with Bobo at a men’s retreat, aiming to persuade the DWP chair to support the Brooks initiative. As Pernell grapples with his newfound faith, he also finds himself torn between his feelings for a call girl and his pursuit of Tessie's love. Paul and Alicia try out for a prominent televangelist role, but old acquaintances from Paul's past pose a risk to his ambitions.
