Barry gets a new saxophone from Auntie Wainwright, but Glenda forbids him from playing inside, forcing him to search for a place outdoors to practice. Trouble arises when he realizes the kind of case the saxophone is packed in. Meanwhile, Compo and a local elder engage in a friendly rivalry to prove who is fitter. Their challenges include racing to climb a tree quickly—though descending proves tricky—and competing on Wesley's latest invention to see who can glide downhill the fastest.
