Maya, a Russian blue cat, arrives for surgery with a fractured jaw following a dog attack. Meanwhile, a man from a homeless shelter brings in his loyal companion Spud, a Labrador mix suffering from a hind leg injury. Additionally, Noel works to correct a leg deformity in a six-month-old Chihuahua puppy, aiming to give the little one a better chance at a healthy life.
