Sylvia Humphrey, a close friend of Ercell Minix, tragically stabbed her in the neck at the beauty salon where she was employed. At the time of the incident, Ercell's son was just five years old, and he has since grown up to become NBA star Kendrick Perkins. Following the tragedy, he was raised by his grandparents.
