Zeus was well-known for his charms with women. He soon found himself entwined with Semele, the daughter of Thebes' king. From their union, Dionysos was born and raised by nymphs. As he grew, he stumbled upon the vine and made the choice to journey across the land, sharing his newfound knowledge of winemaking with humanity.
