Prince Richard feels a void in his life and, with the help of his jester, realizes he needs a wife. Torn between a demanding mother and a bewildered father, he believes a suitable partner will solve his problems—until he meets Alicia. Her kind and gentle nature shines through as she insists she is a true princess. Frustrated by his mother's relentless pressure and unimpressed by the other princesses, Richard decides to marry Alicia.
