Mrs. Drysdale is eager for a genuine Thanksgiving photo, so she rents Pilgrim outfits, enlists two Native American actors, and even gets a live turkey for the shot. However, the turkey manages to break free and finds its way to the Clampett home, where Elly quickly adopts it as her pet. Meanwhile, Granny has her sights set on cooking it, Jethro is keen on having it for dinner, but Jed can't bring himself to harm it because the turkey insists on shaking hands.
