Granny is busy whipping up her latest soap concoction when Mrs. Drysdale reports her to the smog commissioner. When he shows up, Granny frightens him away with a shotgun. Meanwhile, since the commissioner is seeking re-election, Mr. Drysdale proposes that Jed should run for the position. In the midst of all this, Jethro comes up with a smog filter for cars, but there's just one issue—it’s way too large!
