Kate makes her way back to Chicago, confronting the looming threat of arrest, her ex-husband, and potential suspension from her job. Meanwhile, Aaron reflects on Philip's resentment towards him for seemingly backing Tommy Wilmette. Dennis works hard to restore his health. Dr. Nyland comes back only to discover that a different doctor has taken over the trauma service. As Kronk prepares to depart from Africa, his ongoing conflicts with Grad persist.
