A film studio from Hollyrock sets up in Bedrock to shoot its latest project, Monster From The Tar Pits, and naive Fred is chosen to be the stand-in for leading man Gary Granite. Things take a turn for Fred when Wilma and Betty try out for parts in the movie and become infatuated with the famous actors Rock Pile and Wednesday Tuesday.
