While looking into the fishing ban in the area, agents James West and Artemus Gordon find themselves ambushed by a group of rowdy sailors. Following the chaotic skirmish, they encounter Lt. Bartlett, who seems to have fallen prey to a strange sea creature. West teams up with a determined fisherman on his vessel, only to face off against a massive squid. However, as the situation unfolds, it becomes clear that a deeper, more sinister danger lurks beneath the surface.
