After receiving his twelfth rejection slip, Donald, who is eager to see his unpublished novel succeed, finds himself feeling down. Meanwhile, Ann's father steps in to help by reaching out to a publisher on Donald's behalf. However, after reading the manuscript himself, he ultimately decides against submitting it, leaving Donald's hopes hanging in the balance.
