Nick forms his own band, but Gene decides to assert control by stepping in as the manager. He becomes excessively nitpicky, scrutinizing everything from their outfits to the band’s name. In his eagerness, he also schedules a performance for them much earlier than they’re ready. Meanwhile, Shannon takes little Sophie to a glamorous fashion week event in Los Angeles.
