In 1999, a sniper's bullet crashes through a kitchen window in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, killing 47-year-old Sunday school teacher Miriam Illes. Investigators are misled by tangled forensic clues and a series of anonymous handwritten letters, sending them down false paths. All the while, the murderer remains hidden in plain sight, waiting just beyond their blind spot.
