With Steve and Barbara in Chicago for a golf tournament and Uncle Charley off to a string music festival, Ernie finds himself in charge for the day. Meanwhile, little Dodie and her friend venture into town for a shopping spree but soon realize they lack the funds for their bus fare back home.
