Schoolteacher Ellie Manning is shattered when she learns that her husband Greg has died in a car crash. The heartbreak deepens when the police reveal he was not alone; another woman, Milena Livingstone, was in the car with him. Confronted with the painful truth of Greg's infidelity, Ellie becomes fixated on uncovering everything about Milena. Her close friends, Gwen, Fergus, and Joe, try to support her through this dark time, but they struggle to redirect her growing obsession with the woman who was involved in the tragedy.
