The students at school are given the opportunity to stage plays in teams. Laura and Mary team up with Ginny Clark, a classmate who is raised without a father. Ginny wishes for her mother, Della, to find love, but Della feels insecure about her appearance. In a selfless act, Ginny decides to sell her long, gorgeous hair to purchase a new dress for her mother. Initially, Della suspects Ginny of taking money, but her suspicions change when she realizes her daughter has sacrificed her hair for the gift.
