Meanwhile, Paul grapples with the fallout of confronting his father, while Scott throws himself into his career. Kenny clashes with Cain, a traveling nurse harboring secrets. Shannon helps integrate Cain as they navigate the challenges of the San Antonio Memorial ER, which is stretched thin and overwhelmed. In a tense subplot, TC finds himself a captive in Syria, where he must treat his captor to locate Syd, rather than escaping to safety with civilian volunteer Amira.
