Adam was a leading skier in the United States before he joined the Marines, where he completed missions in 15 countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan, focusing on counter-terrorism. After returning home, he faced a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder, which led him to turn to alcohol. His struggle with drinking is taking a serious toll on his health.
