When Vanessa introduces her first boyfriend, Reggie, to the family, Bernie sets out to drive him away. However, he soon realizes that Reggie positively influences Jordan, steering him away from bug collecting towards sports and girls. Seizing this opportunity, Bernie allows Vanessa to think she has a boyfriend while providing Jordan with a role model. As this arrangement keeps Vanessa and Reggie from having private moments, she considers breaking up with him. However, Bernie employs reverse psychology to encourage their relationship. Meanwhile, Wanda struggles to declutter her closet and part with some shoes destined for the Salvation Army.
