In the quaint village of Monks Barton, two couples vanish amidst whispers of witchcraft and eerie forests. Detectives Barnaby and Jones delve into the mystery, encountering psychic Cyrus LeVanu, who has a contentious relationship with cleric Wallace Stone due to their opposing views on `healing' the woods. Meanwhile, locals become embroiled in a scheme involving stolen antiques. As the investigation intensifies and a corpse is discovered, the detectives scramble to link the missing couples to the thefts in order to apprehend the murderer.
