Employees at Winfred-Louder face daily dangers navigating the busy intersection between the parking garage and the store, especially since the crosswalk is near a freeway. When a member of the Optimists Club suffers a serious injury while crossing, Drew insists that the company construct a skywalk for staff safety. After his pleas go unheeded and both Lewis and Oswald sustain injuries, Drew resorts to extreme action by staging a hunger strike to highlight the urgent need for change.
