As the trial captures national interest, Josh's supervisor, Mr. Mankiewicz, steps in to take control of the case, causing chaos among the team. At the same time, when Mankiewicz proposes that Larry should plead insanity, Josh and Carol Anne Keane join forces to persuade Larry to face the trial instead.
