As winter fades, the arrival of spring brings both fresh prospects and the end of others. Sam learns from fellow fishermen that halibut are being caught in nearby waters, and after months of relying on frozen meals, he is eager to reel in some delicious fish. Meanwhile, with trapping season nearing its conclusion, Gary embarks on a final trapping expedition to gather enough fur to cover his yearly expenses. Curly discovers a giant tree endangering a local home, while Mary continues her relentless quest to gather firewood.
