S2E2 The Homecoming

When Mallory's boyfriend Jeff comes back from college and expresses his desire to be in a steady relationship, she's overjoyed. However, it quickly becomes clear that he's feeling overwhelmed by his new environment and is clinging to their past. Mallory's anxiety grows as she worries that he might have found someone else or moved on from her. When Jeff reveals his intention to drop out of school, she struggles to acknowledge what's really happening: he's simply struggling to cope with college life. What excites her is ultimately leading Jeff down a harmful path.
