Alex is initially doubtful when Nick submits his sculpture, "Spirit of Columbus," priced at $200, to a mall art show. However, when Nick returns with cash and reveals multiple buyers were interested, Alex realizes Nick has no grasp of how marketable his art is. Shocked that Nick allowed potential buyers to walk away, Alex urges him to ramp up production to satisfy the demand and takes on the role of Nick's manager, demanding a significant commission in return.
