Matlock returns to his hometown for a family gathering, but trouble arises when a close friend of his nephew’s son is found dead, and his old rival is accused of the murder. To make matters worse, the townsfolk appear to resent Matlock, convinced that he looks down on them for being a successful lawyer from the city. As tensions rise, Matlock must navigate the hostility while trying to uncover the truth behind the tragedy.
