Bat witnesses a poker game come to an abrupt end when a player claims the dealer is cheating. As he investigates, Bat discovers that all the local games are fixed, with the Sheriff taking a cut. Determined to establish a fair game, Bat attempts to set one up but ends up in jail and facing a ban from playing cards altogether.
