Bat gets hold of half of a cane he once gifted to Jane Taylor and decides to ride out to her ranch to look into the matter. Once there, he finds himself caught in a conflict, having to pick a side between Jane’s family and the other ranchers, or his longtime friend, a cattle baron who wants to revive the era of open range grazing.
