Grand Tours of the Scottish Islands (2013)
S2E2 Far from the Madding Crowd
On this exciting journey, Paul Murton delves into the Isle of Mull and its surrounding islands to uncover why they serve as peaceful retreats from the chaos of contemporary life. He starts his adventure on the tidal island of Erraid, which inspired the renowned Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson. From there, Paul ventures to the stunning island of Ulva, the final resting place of Lachlan MacQuarrie, one of the earliest governors of New South Wales. Known as the father of Australia, MacQuarrie was born on Ulva and chose this serene spot for his burial.
