S2E2 The Price

On January 1, 1943, the new camp offers the internees an unexpectedly luxurious environment compared to their previous conditions, but they soon discover that such comforts come at a cost. Verna Johnson, the camp's female leader, is a cunning collaborator working alongside Miss Hasan, the Commandant Lt. Nakamura's interpreter. Shortly after their arrival, Christina is forcibly separated from her friends and taken to a different camp. Meanwhile, Marion reconnects with an old schoolmate, Lillian Cartland, and her young son, Bobby. Bea learns to respect the camp’s doctor, Dr. Natalie Trier, while Kate hides her nursing background, and Sally's outlook on life begins to decline dramatically.
