When Russell stumbles upon an Air Force officer named Paxton, who is barely clinging to life in a wet suit at the ranger station, he can't shake the feeling that something sinister has occurred, especially since Paxton's injuries mirror those of Dave. As Russell delves deeper, he realizes he's not alone in his concerns; Sheriff Underlay and Larkin are also probing into the enigma surrounding Paxton. Meanwhile, Mariel discovers something bizarre emerging from Paxton's wounds, fueling Russell's fascination with the peculiar skeleton, while Underlay is increasingly adamant about enforcing a quarantine in town.
