As summer kicks off, the lifeguards are auditioning for positions at the world’s busiest beach. Over the next few months, Bondi will welcome around two and a half million visitors, with as many as 50,000 crowding the shore on peak days. The season begins with tension as race riots from nearby Cronulla Beach threaten to spill over into Bondi. A shark scare further heightens anxiety. The beach experiences an eerie lull until chaos erupts when nineteen-year-old Natalie unexpectedly collapses in the water. Her emergency rescue and subsequent hospitalization mark a significant incident for Bondi.
