After just one day back at school, Davey Keith finds himself in hot water. After being caught scrapping on the playground, Clive Pettibone punishes him with a daunting task of writing one hundred lines. This punishment is especially tough for Davey, as he struggles with reading and writing. When he unintentionally causes Sarah to get into trouble, she discovers his painful secret. Luckily, with her assistance, Davey starts to make progress in learning how to read.
