On July 17, 1981, a vibrant dance event at the Hyatt Regency Hotel attracted around 1,500 attendees. Tragically, a disastrous structural failure occurred when the skywalk gave way, resulting in the deaths of 114 individuals and leaving many more injured. This incident marked one of the most devastating architectural collapses in American history.
