Veteran lifeguard John "J.D." Darius shows up at Bayside, vying for Mitch’s former position as lieutenant against the charming newcomer, Taylor Walsh. As Mitch evaluates both candidates, he faces a tough choice about who would be the best fit for the role. Despite J.D.'s extensive experience, he grapples with the traumatic memory of a past rescue failure at Daytona Beach, which continues to haunt him.
