At the 14th precinct, an informant is lurking among the officers, jeopardizing the undercover team tackling a truck hijacking case. The Internal Affairs Division insists that Cagney and Lacey look into the matter, citing their status as "outsiders." When Cagney declines, the IAD lieutenant smugly reminds her of Charlie's past corruption as a cop. Ultimately, their investigation uncovers that LaGuardia is dating someone and reveals that Samuels is visiting a psychiatrist to cope with the fallout from his divorce.
