Cagney is shot by a villain right at the start of the episode. But she doesn't let that stop her; she works on cracking the case from her hospital room. Meanwhile, Mary Beth is left dealing with a total bore as her temporary partner. In a twist, it's Mary Beth who takes the lead, while her new partner is solely focused on clocking out on time.
