Veronica treats Jughead poorly for his uniqueness, convinced that if she were different, she would lose everyone's affection. While accompanying Archie to see Dilton, she accidentally activates a new growth ray, which initially appears to have no beneficial effects. Soon, however, Veronica starts to expand—growing larger and larger—until she becomes even more distinct from everyone around her than Jughead ever was.
