After witnessing a car veer off the road, Nancy and her girlfriend, George, urge Nancy's boyfriend, Ned Nickerson, to notify the sheriff. When he investigates, the sheriff informs Nancy that there are no indications of an accident, as the road has been closed for quite some time. Determined to uncover the truth behind this strange incident, Nancy decides to take matters into her own hands, which leads her into a perilous situation.
