Squire G. Emory Partridge is back, bringing with him a significant stash of Quadrillenium X from Alaska, a dense metal with powerful magnetic properties that THRUSH plans to exploit to interfere with global communications. Solo and Illya find themselves in peril when they encounter hostile local Eskimos, but they're rescued by Murphy, the chief's daughter. Soon after, Partridge and his niece Victoria manage to capture them, yet they manage to break free, only to get caught up in a chaotic brawl at a nearby tavern.
