Journalist Charlie Farnum is determined to uncover the secrets of Major Tony Nelson's life. His pursuit leads him to secretly install a camera and tape recorder in Tony's home. However, Tony and Jeannie quickly uncover his plot and put a stop to it. Frustrated, Farnum turns to blackmail, persuading his wife and children to fabricate a story claiming to be the family Tony left behind years ago, putting Tony’s reputation at risk.
